Himalayan salt
Mountain salt

The natural coloration of this salt ranges from pale pink to white. The pretty pink color is obtained from its iron content. Delicate and subtle crunchy flavor. Very fine, it enhances both the flavor of raw and cooked dishes. Of great hardness, and very thick, it is special for salt mills.
Himalayan pink salt is collected in the foothills of the Himalayas, the fruit of ancient seas that dried up more than 200 million years ago, in the secondary era. Huge amounts of salt settled little by little in successive layers. The fossilized salt is sometimes tens of meters thick. In the secondary era, deep faults separated the earth's crust and several continents were individualized. Slowly, the Indian continent moved towards the Northeast, until colliding with the Neuro-Asiatic, forming, 45 million years ago, the Himalayas, 2,500 km long, and peaks of more than 8,000 m. This is how the salt of the ancient ocean was displaced to the north of the mountain range, in antiplains at an altitude of more than 3,000 m. It was impregnated and compacted by magmatic fluids coming from the deep layers of the lithosphere, enriching it and giving it a pink color. Protected from the influences of time and pollution, it was stored in the same place until today. With all its original purity, thanks to its respectful treatment, it preserves its natural constitution, and is rich in minerals and trace elements. No additives or iodine.
